Alda Hotel is located right in the heart of the city, a icon of Scandinavian minimalist design. During your stay in the city, you’ll join a private guide to all the major landmarks. You‘ll get to bath in style, reaching the warm river of Reykjadalur by helicopter, bathing has never been that in the wild!
Our next destination is the historic building of Hotel Egilsen in Stykkishólmur on the Snæfellsnes peninsula. This hotel preserves its classic Icelandic heritage with red walls and white windows, and the 10 rooms lends to a cozy, intimate atmosphere. The owners’ hospitality and attention to detail come out in the natural design and harmonious mood. We’ll spend the time at the Snæfellsnes Peninsula exploring the breathtaking nature: the impressive glacier, historic caves and fjords while whale-watching.
Next, we’ll move close to the Golden Circle and stay at Ion Hotel. Set amongst the lava field at the highly geothermally active Hengill area, Ion Hotel’s mission is eco-conscious luxury, Scandinavian design and sustainability. Sip a cocktail from the Northern Lights Bar, or take a dip in the Lava Spa. On your last full day, you’ll visit the dramatic South Coast of Iceland, visiting the black sand beaches and staggering waterfalls.
Itinerary
Day 1
Arrival and private transfer to the Blue Lagoon. Relax in the Retreat Spa before transferring to Alda Hotel in Reykjavík.
Day 2
Today enjoy a city tour of Reykjavík with your private guide. In the afternoon, soar off in a helicopter to the geothermal area. Spend another night at Alda Hotel.
Day 3
Explore the southern part of Snæfellsnes Peninsula: Ytri-Vík where seals flock together on the rocks, Búðir with its iconic black church and Hellnar and Arnarstapi with their staggering cliffs and amazing rock formations. Dive into the ancient earth in Vatnshellir lava cave. We‘ll spend the night in Stykkishólmur at the gorgeous Hotel Egilsen.
Day 4
Today we‘ll take in the northern part of Snæfellsnes Peninsula: charming fishing towns, the shark museum at Bjarnarhöfn and stunning views of the Snæfellsnes glacier. We‘ll head out to sea for a whale watching adventure, hoping to spot these gentle giants of the sea. Another night at Hotel Egilsen.
Day 5
We transfer to the famous Golden Circle, for a private tour of Þingvellir National Park, Geysir and Gullfoss. We’ll get a private introduction to the interesting production at Friðheimar greenhouses and then check in at the stylish Ion Hotel in the countryside.
Day 6
Enjoy the South Coast of Iceland with the waterfalls Seljalandsfoss and Skógafoss, black sand beaches and amazing rock formations at Reynisfjara beach. Spend your last night in Iceland at Ion Hotel.
Day 7
Today your private car will drive you from Ion Hotel to the airport.
