Although Reykjavík is a young city, it’s bustling with life. Reykjavik enjoys a strange mix between capital city life with gourmet restaurants and vibrant nightlife. But it also has a small town feel, with colorful houses and friendly people
The second part of your stay will be devoted to the countryside. There’s no need to introduce the classic Golden Circle with the amazing trio of Þingvellir, Geysir and Gullfoss. We will spice it up by snorkeling in the clear cold waters of the Silfra Fissure, one of the top dive sites in the world. Here the water has filtered through porous lava fields for centuries, rendering it crystal-clear and perfect to snorkel in--in the comfort of a drysuit, naturally.
The South Coast is our next destination with staggering cliffs, black sand beaches, the infamous Eyjafjallajökull Volcano and endless waterfalls. We‘ll visit Seljalandsfoss and Skógafoss as well as Reynisfjara beach and Dyrhólaey arch, if conditions allow. We’ll also soar on snowmobiles on the huge white playground of Mýrdalsjökull glacier.
Itinerary
Day 1
Arrival and private transfer to Reykjavík. You‘ll have the rest of the afternoon to wander around the city.
Day 2
Today you’ll explore downtown Reykjavík with a private guide. In the afternoon, climb into a helicopter for a spectacular tour to the highly geothermal area of Hengill and its bubbling mud pots.
Day 3
Enjoy all the Golden Circle with a private guide and join a group for snorkeling between the tectonic plates in Silfra Fissure at Þingvellir National Park.
Day 4
We explore the South Coast of Iceland and enjoy snowmobiling on Mýrdalsjökull glacier.
